David Collins
David Collins has been practicing law for ten years and has a broad spectrum of experience that includes civil litigation, business transactions, real estate, corporate and intellectual property.
Mr. Collins has represented business owners, musicians, insurers and others in various civil litigation matters involving trademark infringement, commercial disputes associated with securities, embezzlement, contract interpretation, business torts, fraud, and complex multi-million dollar development projects. Mr. Collins handles matters involving the purchase, sale, entitlement and development of real property, such as commercial retail centers and residential developments; environmental due diligence; and compliance with local zoning and land use requirements. He has litigated commercial lease disputes and represented contractors in real estate investment disputes. Mr. Collins has represented owners of abandoned gold mine properties in developing re-use plans that comply with regulatory agency requirements-- such as the California Department of Toxic Substances Control. He also advises businesses, landlords, developers and commercial property owners in leasing; financing; use and formation of general and limited partnerships, corporations, limited liability companies; buy-sell agreements; and business succession.
Prior to obtaining his law degree, Mr. Collins spent nearly a decade working for the major record label Capitol Records in Hollywood, California, with the label's new media department where he developed web sites and negotiated technology deals with companies such as Microsoft and Macromedia -- while protecting the label's intellectual property.
